Hey Michal,
It is pretty awesome to me, to always be able to recall the
most beautiful, perfect and divine place of meeting my husband...
which was set up through you!
Love,
Jamie

hi!!!
I have a special place in my heart for you.  I always will.  You're a big part of my re-introduction to the Jewish community and to my own Jewish spirit.  That conversation we had on the phone so many years ago...(OK, it was like four).

Hi Michal,
You may or may not remember me, but I was from Canada and I had met a man at the Jconnect Tu Bav party in July 2007. Since then, we have gotten married, and now we are expecting a baby. And it's all thanks to Jconnect. So before you left, I wanted to tell you and the organization Thanks, and wish you lots of good luck in Israel. Hope to see you at the goodbye bash.

Michal you have been a true asset to the Jewish community in Los Angeles and all the lives you have touched are better for having done so. I wish you only love, joy, happiness, and success in all your future endeavors.

It seriously won't be the same without you - both at JConnect and in the community in general, Michal. You've really done so much for so many here. Hoping you and your husband have a wonderful experience in Israel and that you'll be back (at least visiting or something) soon.

In the Autumn of 2004 Michal Taviv-Margolese showed up on the front step of my father's home in West Palm Beach, FL. She'd driven almost 900 miles from New Orleans on a Harley Davidson to visit him and to celebrate my engagement to her younger brother. She and I hadn't even met yet.

This is in my opinion the 'quintessential Michal'. One might first observe that she was a daredevil, taking a motorcycle road trip across a huge portion of a country she'd never been to before. Or you could note that she was very spontaneous, or perhaps a little wild. All these descriptions of Michal are true. Well, at least, I certainly won't argue with them (though perhaps she might). But the thing that really stands out for me about her spur-of-the-moment Hell's Angels style foray down South was her motivation.

Celebration.

This is the essence of Michal, the ikur, if you will. She is a person who seeks and revels in celebration. Not the cheap kind that's spurned out on greeting cards or at club parties, but the real kind, the lasting kind, the kind that brings a little more happiness, and a little more unity to the world. She is not afraid, nor does she shirk from the work necessary to bring about the celebration - rather she dives head first into the business of accomplishing it. Sometimes she does that by planning events or raising money, more significantly she does that by learning, and soul-searching, a task easier said than done.

Michal does not avoid the hard work of life, moreover she does not shrink from the task of celebrating it. To be around her is to be caught in the infectious air of her joy and to be inspired by her thoughtfulness and ernest (if somewhat dogged) pursual of truth...real truth, the delicious kind that leaves you feeling like you've grown into a better person for having known her.

Enjoy her blog - full of insights and not just a little celebration. I know I will.
