Well, its my 3rd week in London. i am working at the Sound Republic. Which has to be the classiest job I've landed yet. I'm working in the Blue Room section, which is the posh restaurant area. In the same building there are three different dance floor areas, a cocktail bar, a cafe, and theme parties happening all the time. I did three training shifts and am now in the groove. I've learned to carry huge trays laden with many plates and have learned quite a few things that my seven years waitressing experience had not yet taught me, so I guess thats a good thing.

Tonight after I finished in the restaurant, I borrowed a fellow employees funky gear and checked out Carwash, the super cool disco, dress up night in the venue area. Its wild how they combine such different styles in one building. I'm making good cash by South African standards.

Last Saturday when Dean, my boyfriend, left back to South Africa I moved in with a high school friend of mine, Carina. She went to Paris for the weekend and left me with our room to myself. I did some shopping at Tesco, which took awhile, there is just so much choice here. Anything you could possibly dream of. they definitely cater for all tastes in London. Anyway, Friday was a bad night at work, and i'm recovering from getting really sick (probably overdid it at the Nottinghill Carnival, (2.5 million people in a small area may do that to you.) So I got home and was feeling really sorry for myself, and miserable.

I slept all day and woke up fresh and with a positive attitude. After
traveling for so long having my own room and being able to get up in the
morning and put on my music and even make a fresh salad for myself was my idea of heaven. I was in total bliss all day. After consuming an entire bowl of Salad ala Michal, I napped and had dreams I do not care to discuss for
fear of embarrassment.

I got to work Saturday night glowing. The night turned out fantastic. I made
good money and explored the scene I find myself working in. I got lucky again it looks like. I have another month here so will adapt myself and get with the groove.

I'm looking forward to coming home and connecting to those that  I have a permanent connection with. I'm appealing to those who do not write so often, to do so. Hearing from you guys makes me feel closer to home and helps dissipate my longings for home. I care to know whats going on in your lives.

I'm planning to return on the 14th of October. Just in time to celebrate my
birthday with my loved  ones. Hope you guys are up for it.

London takes some getting used to. Its very consumer driven.
People don't really care about you, and nothing could shock the people here. They have seen it all. despite that, I am meeting cool and interesting people all the time.

Carina has been really good to me, and it helps to be with someone I've
known since teenage years. Having Dean with me for the first 2 weeks also helped to orientate and strengthen me.

I got glandular fever overnight and had agony swallowing for 3 days. I was
depressed and stayed in bed.I'm now on the road to recovery. and
am in good spirits. Nothing will keep me down for long, I am just too
hyperactive for that.

I'm sharing a room and double bed with Carina, she has everything in the room, for example sink, stove, cupboards. the shower is just outside the door, and the toilet is a flight of stairs down.

There is a telephone 2 flights of stairs down, you'd have to let it ring a
long time and ask for room 11 on the last floor and hope I was there but if
ever in the mood you can call anytime. just let me know if you want the number, it would probably be best if we arranged a time too.

I went to Scotland before I came here, it is so beautiful in Edinburgh, I could not believe my eyes. Wandered around stupefied by it.  Amsterdam was also awesome and I may go back there if I have the time. A return bus ticket from here to there only costs £33. maybe iIll go for the weekend or something. I have to get my butt back to Zurich to catch my flight back to South Africa anyway.

I hate the underground system here. The tube, it really make me see the
ant, busy colony hive thing of humanity. I detest being under the ground like that and so far away from the sun. I cannot wait to get back to South African  summer. My  tan is not going to last here very long.

There are plenty of clubs and such like to choose from with all the famous DJ's as residents but I am trying to put my nose to the grindstone and work as much as possible, especially since i have been on holiday for almost six months. I'm adapting to work mode again, after a slight miff mode.

Well thats me for now

light, love & blessings
